Job Title: Master Electrician – Master on Record (100% Remote / Retainer)

Company: Northgate Solar Inc.

Location: Alberta (Work from Home)

Job Type: Part-Time / Contract

The Role: Northgate Solar Inc. is a professional, compliance-first residential solar installer. We are seeking an actively licensed Alberta Master Electrician to act as our registered "Master on Record." This is a highly versatile, remote role perfect for earning supplementary income without the physical demands of fieldwork or crew management.

Our Commitment to Your License: We know your certification is your livelihood. Here is how we protect it:

- You Have Final Say: You review every Single-Line Diagram (SLD). If it doesn't meet the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), it doesn't get submitted.
- No Babysitting: All physical installations and grid connections are executed by our on-site licensed Journeymen.
- Strictly Insured: We operate with comprehensive CGL and full WCB coverage.

Key Responsibilities

- Associate your Master certification with Northgate Solar to establish our municipal "Qualified Trade" status.

- Remotely review residential solar SLDs for CEC and Alberta code compliance.
- Pull residential electrical permits and request final inspections via municipal online portals (e.g., Edmonton, Calgary).
- Provide occasional remote code guidance to our field teams if unexpected site issues arise.

Requirements

- Active Master Electrician Certificate of Competency (Alberta Safety Codes Council).
- Deep understanding of residential solar PV code and grid-interconnection standards.

Compensation: We offer a hybrid Base Monthly Retainer + Per-Permit Fee. This ensures you receive a guaranteed baseline income for associating your license with us during our launch phase, with compensation scaling up as project volume increases.
