Community Living North Bay is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the position of Parttime Direct Support Worker. This position requires collaborating closely with the application entity and reports to the Manager Individualized Funding, Passport Services. The Parttime Direct Support Worker will be responsible for providing personalized support and assistance to individuals. This role is based in North Bay, Ontario

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Direct Support Professional is responsible for providing personalized support and assistance to individuals, empowering them to achieve their personal goals, pursue their dreams and make informed choices about their lives, This role is essential in ensuring that all activities align with and promote the vision, values, and mission of Community Living North Bay.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS ROLE?

- Participating in the development of an Individual Goal with the person being supported and as well as by preplanning with the person.
- Strengthening existing relationships and assist with developing recent relationships and networks that link the person with ordinary life in the community
- Teaching daily living skills, assisting with travel training, money management, literacy skills, personal safety, etc
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to accommodate day to day variations in support requirements.

ARE YOU THE RIGHT PERSON?

- DSW diploma/certificate, University Degree/Diploma in Human Services.




- Experience and demonstrated ability working with adults with an intellectual disability and/ or physical disability.
- You have a valid Ontario's Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle for on the job (with 2-million-dolla liability insurance).
- You have the ability to maintain a high standard of privacy and confidentiality.
- You believe in support that fosters life skills, advocacy, safety and security that meet the vision, values, and mission statement of Community Living North Bay.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Vulnerable Sector Non-Criminal Check.
- Bilingualism is an asset.

COMPENSATION: $24.55 per hour, plus 4.25% in lieu of benefits, plus 4 % in lieu of vacation, plus optional participation in pension plan.

SCHEDULE: Variety of shifts available 7 days a week – days / evenings / nights
