Help dental practices turn good intentions into measurable progress
Dental Director Academy (DDA) helps dental practice owners and leaders strengthen their people, systems, performance, and profitability.
We are looking for an experienced dental leader who can coach practice owners and office managers through meaningful, sustainable change.
This is not a passive advisory role. Our coaches help clients identify what matters most, translate priorities into practical action plans, and maintain the accountability needed to achieve results.
The opportunity
As a DDA Practice Growth Coach, you will support dental practices participating in our Growth Advisory Program.
You will lead structured virtual coaching meetings, monitor progress against 90-day priorities, interpret practice performance indicators, and help clients work through operational and leadership challenges.
You will not be expected to run the client’s practice for them. Your role is to help leaders make sound decisions, clarify ownership, follow through on commitments, and build the capabilities they need to lead successfully.
What you’ll do
- Prepare for and facilitate virtual client coaching meetings.
- Review client scorecards, key performance indicators, and 90-day growth plans.
- Help clients identify the one or two highest-priority issues to address.
- Turn growth opportunities into clear, manageable execution plans.
- Assign ownership, deadlines, and success measures to agreed-upon actions.
- Provide consistent follow-up and accountability between meetings.
- Coach office managers and other practice leaders in communication, leadership, and problem-solving.
- Support improvements in areas such as scheduling, patient experience, case acceptance, team accountability, and operational routines.
- Document decisions, commitments, risks, wins, and next steps.
- Recognize when an issue requires strategic escalation or additional support from DDA leadership.
- Collaborate with the DDA coaching team to continually improve our client experience and coaching resources.
What success looks like
A successful DDA Coach:
- Comes to every client meeting prepared and informed.
- Creates clarity when clients feel overwhelmed or stuck.
- Ensures each active client has a current 90-day plan and performance scorecard.
- Sends accurate meeting recaps within two business days.
- Completes coach-owned actions on time.
- Helps clients follow through on their commitments.
- Supports measurable improvement in client priorities and key performance indicators.
- Builds trusted relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
- Consistently delivers the DDA coaching experience and methodology.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Have significant experience in dental practice operations or leadership.
- Are currently, or have previously been, a dental office manager, director of operations, regional leader, practice coach, or consultant.
- Understand the operational and financial indicators used to evaluate dental practice performance.
- Have experience leading teams and implementing practice improvements.
- Can coach someone toward an answer rather than simply telling them what to do.
- Are comfortable having direct but respectful accountability conversations.
- Can balance empathy with the need to move work forward.
- Are highly organized and dependable with follow-up.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in writing and in virtual meetings.
- Are comfortable using virtual meeting platforms, shared documents, scorecards, and project-management tools.
- Believe that strong business results are created through strong people and leadership.
Experience supporting multiple practices, facilitating leadership training, or developing dental office managers would be considered an asset.
This role may not be the right fit if you:
- Prefer to give advice without remaining involved in execution and accountability.
- Find it difficult to address missed commitments or performance concerns.
- Need to personally take over a problem instead of developing the client’s ability to solve it.
- Are uncomfortable interpreting practice data or discussing business performance.
- Prefer a highly predictable role with little ambiguity or independent judgment.
Your growth at DDA
DDA is building a structured growth pathway for coaches:
- Coach in Training — Learn the DDA methodology, observe client work, and demonstrate coaching readiness.
- Independent Coach — Manage an assigned client caseload and consistently meet DDA service standards.
- Senior Coach — Deliver sustained client outcomes, manage more complex engagements, and support quality improvement.
- Lead Coach — Develop other coaches, oversee coaching quality, and contribute to the growth of DDA’s coaching programs.
Advancement is based on demonstrated capability, client experience, service quality, and measurable results—not tenure alone.
What DDA provides
- A defined coaching methodology and client-growth process.
- Structured onboarding and supervised training.
- Coaching tools, scorecards, templates, and educational resources.
- Ongoing collaboration with DDA’s founder and coaching team.
- A meaningful opportunity to influence the success of dental leaders and their teams.
