We are currently seeking an experienced CNC/EDM Operator to join a Tool & Die Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled operator with CNC/EDM and tool & die experience who is looking for a stable, full-time position.

Position Details

- Position: CNC/EDM Operator
- Department: Tool & Die
- Starting Wage: $25.00/hour, negotiable based on experience
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Overtime: Saturday/Sunday may be required as needed
- Start Date: ASAP
- Reports To: Tool Room Manager

Key Responsibilities

The CNC/EDM Operator will be responsible for operating EDM equipment and supporting fabrication and tool & die activities, including:

- Review work orders and special instructions.
- Prepare materials and cut material to required die dimensions.
- Grind dies and square die sides using a milling machine.
- Scribe or spot starting points for dies and vacuum blocks using CNC equipment.
- Drill holes in dies or vacuum blocks for EDM wire.
- Load and operate the EDM machine.
- Create or load programs received from the CAD Operator.
- Perform graphics and program checks.
- Monitor the EDM machine and computer during operation.
- Remove and properly dispose of slugs and scrap material.
- Perform visual inspections for damage and non-conformities.
- Use calipers and compare completed parts against drawings.
- Perform water testing as required.
- Troubleshoot machine problems and report mechanical concerns requiring specialized skills.
- Maintain accurate inventory and store materials, dies, and supplies appropriately.




- Keep the EDM machine and work area clean and organized.
- Follow all company health, safety, environmental, quality, and housekeeping procedures.
- Assist the Vacuum Assembler and Die Assembler as required.
- Provide training to other employees when assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous CNC/EDM operating experience required.
- Experience in a Tool & Die environment is an asset.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to read and work from drawings and work orders.
- Ability to use basic measuring equipment such as calipers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot and identify machine issues.
- Ability to follow safety procedures, including lockout procedures and PPE requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Ability and willingness to work overtime when required.
