Haldimand-Norfolk Community Senior Support Services (H-NCSSS) is offering a part-time Van Driver position (21 hours per week).

Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Van Driver provides safe, reliable, and respectful transportation services to clients using wheelchair-accessible vehicles. This position supports both Haldimand and Norfolk transportation vans.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide assisted transportation services to clients, including escort, transfer, and discharge at program sites, residences, and destinations
- Safely operate wheelchair lifts, Q-Straints, seatbelts, and other safety equipment
- Ensure client comfort, dignity, and confidentiality always
- Follow assigned routes and transportation schedules across Haldimand and Norfolk
- Complete daily vehicle safety checks (circle checks) and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Operate vehicles in compliance with the Ontario Traffic Safety Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, including interior tidiness and scheduled washing
- Monitor road and weather conditions and follow inclement weather procedures
- Complete incident reports promptly and report concerns to the Transportation Manager




- Participate in required training and maintain job-related skills

Qualifications

- Valid Ontario driver’s licence (Class G or F) with a clear Driver’s Abstract
- Personal driver’s insurance
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including assisting clients and operating lifts manually if required
- Experience driving wheelchair-accessible or modified vehicles is an asset
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work a consistent schedule
- Experience working with Seniors and Adults with Disabilities is an asset
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Screening (or willingness to update if required)

Working Conditions

- Part-time position with a regular schedule workweek of 21 hours per week
- Position covers transportation services in both Haldimand and Norfolk
- Duties performed in the community using H-NCSSS vehicles
- Regular interaction with clients, staff, and volunteers

Pay: From $18.90 per hour
