The Rooted Table is a Vancouver-based catering company bringing colourful, abundant food and thoughtful hospitality to corporate gatherings and special events.

We're a passionate team of chefs and hospitality professionals who believe that great food brings people together. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

As the Kitchen Assistant, you will be the heart of keeping the kitchen running as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Reporting to the Sous Chef, you will be in charge of the daily tasks that need to be completed in order to support our team. You are self-sufficient and can organize and stay on top of your tasks.



This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn and grow with the company.

ASPECTS OF THE ROLE

- Dishwashing
- Receiving catering returns
- Receiving food deliveries
- Food prep
- Cleaning and end of day shut down

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Highly effective and organized.
- Team-oriented, positive and helpful.
- Ability to lift 50lbs, and spend long shifts on your feet.
- Able to adapt and prioritize, based on the team’s needs.
- Strong attention to detail and an intentional approach to your work.
- Excellent communicator.
- Proactive, self directive and take initiative.

COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE

- Employment type: part-time to start (~25 hours), with room to grow into full-time.
- Location: Our commercial kitchen in East Vancouver, 1245 Glen Drive
- Rate: $20 per hour plus tip pool (an extra ~$2-4 per hour)
- Availability: Thursdays and Saturdays are a must (10-6) with other days fluctuating based on business needs
- Ability to work early mornings and nights as needed

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
