Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures according to specifications and blueprints. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with various hand and power tools. The Structural Welder will play a crucial role in ensuring that all projects meet safety standards and quality expectations.

Duties

- Interpret and read blueprints to determine project specifications and requirements.
- Utilize various welding techniques to fabricate metal components, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as plasma cutters and cranes for metal fabrication.
- Perform machining tasks as necessary to ensure precise fitting of parts.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and resolve any issues that arise during the fabrication process.
- Install and weld structural steel components on construction sites
- working at heights using lifts or scaffolding

Qualifications

- Proven experience as a welder or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry.




- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various welding equipment and tools effectively.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical drawings.
- Experience with plasma cutting, machining, and fabricating metal structures is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- comfortable with height and physically fit
- Valid CWB welding ticket or willing to obtain
- lift ticket and fall protection ticket is an asset
- must have valid SIN or work permit

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Additional pay:

- Bonus pay

- Secondary School (preferred)

Language:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
- CWB welding tickets (required)

Willingness to travel:

- 25% (preferred)
