The Role
We’re looking for math tutors who enjoy helping students build confidence, whether they’re just learning to count or working through calculus. This is a fully remote, flexible position. You control your hours and how many students you take on.
What You’ll Teach
- Elementary (K–6): Number sense, operations, and foundational confidence
- Middle School (Grades 7–9): Fractions, decimals, ratios, introductory algebra, and geometry
- High School (Grades 10–12): Algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors, data management, and university prep
- Specialized Support: Exam prep, catch-up, enrichment, and acceleration
What You’ll Do
- Design Custom Lessons: Match instruction to each student’s pace, style, and needs
- Teach for Understanding: Help students grasp the why behind the math, not just the steps
- Use Digital Tools: Work with Zoom, whiteboards, graphing software, and visualization tools to make ideas concrete
- Give Practical Feedback: Keep clear session notes and provide feedback students can act on
- Align with Ontario Curriculum: Ground lessons in provincial standards while adapting to each learner’s path
Who We’re Looking For
- Math Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Teaching or Tutoring Experience: A solid track record across multiple grade levels
- Ontario Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with provincial standards (a plus, not required)
- Engaging Online Presence: Energetic and patient, able to keep remote students motivated
- Tech Comfort: Confident with Zoom and standard digital tools
- Availability: Open to evening and/or weekend sessions
