Job Description

FoamTech is a foam fabrication and manufacturing company seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Fortrel Cutter to join our production team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring, cutting, and preparing Fortrel (polyester fibre batting) according to production orders, cutting patterns, and customer specifications.

This position requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a manufacturing setting while maintaining consistent quality standards.

Responsibilities

- Measure and cut Fortrel polyester fibre batting according to production specifications.
- Read and interpret cutting patterns, measurements, and work orders.
- Safely operate industrial cutting equipment and associated tools.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in finished materials.
- Inspect cut materials to identify defects or dimensional inaccuracies.
- Minimize material waste through efficient cutting practices.
- Organize and prepare completed materials for subsequent production processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.




- Work collaboratively with production team members to meet quality standards and production deadlines.

Qualifications

- Previous experience cutting Fortrel, polyester fibre batting, foam, fabric, or similar materials is preferred.
- Experience in furniture manufacturing, upholstery, mattress production, or foam fabrication is an asset.
- Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and interpret cutting specifications.
- Familiarity with industrial cutting equipment is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to safely perform the essential duties of the position, with reasonable accommodation where required.
