Practice Description

Ashay Therapy is a growing private practice based in Calgary, Alberta, providing culturally responsive and trauma-informed counselling to clients across Canada, with a focus on supporting diverse communities and minorities. Our mission is to destigmatize mental health and provide a safe, inclusive space where individuals across Canada feel supported in a way that honours their identity.

About the Role

We are seeking a Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Psychologist, Registered Social Worker or Counsellor to join our team as a part-time independent contractor.

You will support clients navigating concerns such as complex and intergenerational trauma, anxiety, burnout, emotional overwhelm, relationships, identity, masking, and late identification of neurodivergence. We are particularly interested in clinicians who understand how culture, family expectations, and systemic barriers intersect with these experiences.

Required Training & Clinical Experience

- Completed foundational training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and/or Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), with experience using the approach in clinical practice.
- Demonstrated experience supporting ADHD and autistic clients, using a neurodiversity-affirming approach that respects clients’ autonomy, communication styles, and support needs.
- Experience working with trauma, including assessing readiness for trauma processing and adapting treatment to individual needs.
- Ability to adapt therapy for differences in sensory processing, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and communication.
- Demonstrated cultural responsiveness and experience working with BIPOC clients.
- Ability to practise independently, recognize the limits of your competence, and seek consultation when appropriate.
