Overview

The successful candidate will identify and acquire new customers, develop strategic business relationships, and expand MIS Electronics’ presence in the electronics manufacturing services market.

The role requires a proven B2B sales professional with relevant experience in electronics manufacturing, EMS, PCBA, SMT, or a closely related technical industry. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of customer requirements, competitive market dynamics, and North American business development practices.

We are looking for someone who can independently identify sales opportunities, engage senior decision-makers, build a qualified sales pipeline, negotiate commercial agreements, and convert prospects into profitable, long-term customers.

- Key Responsibilities

Business Development and New Customer Acquisition

- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenue and market share across Ontario, Canada, and selected North American markets.
- Identify, qualify, and acquire new customers requiring PCBA, SMT assembly, electronic product assembly, testing, and box-build manufacturing services.
- Generate leads through targeted prospecting, professional networking, industry research, referrals, trade shows, and direct outreach.
- Develop relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), engineering firms, product developers, procurement professionals, and supply-chain decision-makers.
- Manage the complete sales cycle, from initial prospecting and qualification through quotations, negotiations, contract awards, and customer onboarding.
- Identify recent industry sectors and customer segments aligned with the company’s manufacturing capabilities and strategic objectives.

Customer Relationship Management

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts, increase business volume, and develop repeat business.
- Understand customer specifications, production requirements, quality expectations, delivery schedules, and cost objectives.
- Coordinate with internal management, engineering, production, purchasing, and quality teams to develop appropriate customer solutions.

- Support customer retention and long-term partnerships through effective communication and follow-up.

Market Research and Strategy

- Research the Canadian and North American electronics manufacturing markets, including customer demand, competitive positioning, and emerging opportunities.
- Identify organizations seeking qualified manufacturing partners, supply-chain diversification, or alternative electronics manufacturing suppliers.
- Develop targeted account plans and sales strategies based on market opportunities and customer requirements.
- Represent MIS Electronics at customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and relevant business development activities.

Commercial Management

- Coordinate the preparation of competitive quotations, proposals, and manufacturing solutions.
- Negotiate pricing, production volumes, delivery expectations, and commercial terms within company guidelines.
- Assess opportunities based on revenue potential, gross margin, manufacturing capacity, technical feasibility, and long-term business value.
- Work with internal teams to ensure that new business can be delivered profitably and reliably.

Sales Planning and Reporting

- Establish sales forecasts, prospecting plans, account strategies, and measurable business development objectives.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales pipeline information using the company’s CRM or other sales management systems.
- Report regularly to senior management on sales activities, qualified opportunities, forecasts, market developments, and results.
- Monitor performance against agreed targets for new-customer acquisition, revenue, gross-margin contribution, and customer retention.

Experience

- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in B2B sales, business development, or strategic account management, preferably in electronics manufacturing services (EMS), PCBA, SMT assembly, or a related technical industry.

- Demonstrated success in acquiring new customers and generating measurable business growth.
- Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, including PCB assembly, component sourcing, testing, and box-build integration.
- Understanding of OEM procurement practices, technical sales cycles, supply-chain requirements, and commercial negotiations.
- Ability to identify decision-makers, develop qualified sales opportunities, present solutions, and close business.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, prospecting, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical, production, quality, and management teams.
- Experience with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, sales forecasting, and pipeline management.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel within Ontario, across Canada, and occasionally to the United States as required.

Education: A post-secondary degree or diploma in business, marketing, engineering, electronics, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent relevant professional experience and demonstrated sales achievements will also be considered.

Performance Expectations

- Development of a qualified sales pipeline.
- Acquisition of new customers and conversion of prospects into active accounts.
- Revenue growth and gross-margin contribution.
- Development of strategic OEM and other customer relationships.
- Accuracy of sales forecasting and consistency of reporting.
- Progress toward established business development targets.

Specific objectives will be established with management, taking into account the company’s growth plans, manufacturing capabilities, and sales cycle.

Candidates should be prepared to discuss their professional achievements and explain their approach to developing profitable business opportunities during the interview process.
