We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and motivated Kitchen Production Cook to join our team at CookUnity Toronto, a high-volume meal production facility.

This is a temporary full-time position to provide coverage during an employee's maternity/parental leave, with the potential to transition into a permanent role depending on business needs, operational demand, and individual performance.

Our team specializes in preparing high-quality meals following standardized recipes and production schedules. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in their work, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate has previous professional kitchen experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining quality, consistency, and efficiency.

We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills, and leadership potential, as there may be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook food in large batches following standardized recipes and production guidelines.
- Execute daily production tasks efficiently while meeting quality and timing expectations.
- Maintain consistency in food preparation, portioning, and presentation.
- Assist with ingredient preparation, inventory organization, and production planning.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Support meal assembly and packaging operations when required.
- Assist with receiving, organizing,



and handling food supplies.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

- Previous professional kitchen experience is required.
- Conversational English communication skills.
- Valid authorization to work in Canada.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and production instructions accurately.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume food production environment.
- Ability to work early morning shifts starting at 6:00 AM.
- Comfortable working in refrigerated production areas.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift or move food supplies, occasionally weighing up to approximately 12 kg (26 lbs).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability.
- Positive attitude, teamwork, and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in commercial kitchens, catering, commissary kitchens, or large-scale food production.
- Experience with batch cooking and food preparation in large quantities.
- Knowledge of food safety procedures and proper food handling.
- Previous experience training or supporting other kitchen team members.
- Leadership potential and interest in professional growth.
