SURREY IS URGENTLY HIRING FOR FREEZER MATERIAL HANDLERS FOR THE AFTERNOON SHIFT and INBOUND SHIFT!

The FREEZER MATERIAL HANDLER role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working independently, staying active, and being part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, unionized environment.

In this role, successful candidates will be responsible for safely and accurately picking grocery orders for hundreds of stores across the region. The position involves working in a cold-storage setting and requires attention to detail, physical activity, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Please note:

Time spent working inside the freezer will be paid with the freezer premium.
If assigned to another temperature zone, such as the perishable area, the freezer premium will not apply for the time worked outside the freezer.

SCHEDULE AND WAGE RATE

INBOUND SHIFT: 12:30 AM – 9:00 AM
(Days off to be discussed during the interview)

- $26.00 per hour
- Regular rate: $24.00
- Freezer premium: $2.00

AFTERNOON SHIFT: 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM
(Days off to be discussed during the interview)

- $27.00 per hour
- Regular rate: $24.00
- Freezer premium: $2.00
- Afternoon shift premium: $1.00

REQUIREMENTS

- Completed a Secondary School Diploma or GED Equivalent is considered an asset




- Experience operating an electric-powered pallet jack would be considered an asset
- Warehouse or general labour experience is preferred
- Able to lift and carry up to 60lbs, repeatedly with accuracy in a timed environment
- Comfortable working in a temperature-controlled environment (+22 to -28 Degrees in

some locations)

- 8-hour shift available for afternoon shift and must be able to work on weekends
- Collect and assemble pallets of grocery products and other household items operating an electric pallet jack, wrapping the assembled pallets, and preparing them for shipment.
- Adhere to all safety and equipment regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
- Able to take direction from a voice-automated system to pick and organize orders.
- Background check is required for successful candidates

Pay: $26.00-$27.00 per hour
