This is a casual position, approximately 4–20 hours per week when shifts are available, depending on client needs and your availability. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours. The shifts this position covers are:

- Saturday AND Sunday mornings, every week
- Tuesday AND Thursday evenings, every week
- Occasional additional coverage when another caregiver is sick or away
- Please do not apply if you cannot work all four of these shifts on an ongoing basis. If your availability turns out to be different from what you state in your application, you will not be moved forward.

ABOUT THE CLIENT AND THE ROLE

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Home Support Worker to provide in-home total care for an elderly client living with Parkinson’s disease. This role focuses on personal care, mobility support, companionship, and maintaining comfort and dignity in a private home setting. Training will be provided for specific care needs.

This is a casual position. Scheduling is based mainly on Saturday and Sunday mornings and Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with additional shifts possible depending on the client’s needs. Flexibility is required. Paid orientation is provided. A dog lives in the home.

Duties





Assist with personal care (bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming)

Assist with feeding and hydration

Support mobility and transfers

Repositioning and comfort care

Assist with range-of-motion exercises

Provide companionship and emotional support

Light housekeeping related to care and shared common areas, following infection control practices

Monitor condition and report changes to family

Assist with appointments or outings as needed

Qualifications

Experience in home care, assisted living, hospice, or senior care preferred

Experience with Parkinson’s disease or neurological conditions an asset

Physically capable of lifting and transfers

Patient, adaptable, dependable, and compassionate

Experience with a ceiling lift an asset

Willingness to learn; training provided for specific care needs

Criminal record check required

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
