Job Posting: Registered Nurse (RN or RPN) - Family Medicine; 9 month coverage for a Parental Leave

Location: North Ridge Family Medicine, 304-5 Quarry Ridge Rd, Barrie ON, L4M 7G1

Wage: Starting at $28-$36 per hour; depending on RN vs. RPN qualification and experience

Benefits: Parking covered by employers. Paid vacation. Sick days.

Hours: 2-3 full days per week; Office hours M-Th 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Fr 8:30 am - 12:30 pm. Vacation/sick day coverage for other staff in the office if available.

Date range: January - September, 2027

About Us:

We are a team of four family doctors and five supporting staff including MOAs, RNs and RPNs dedicated to providing high-quality and compassionate primary care to individuals and families in the Barrie area. We are a full spectrum practice part of the Barrie Family Health Organization, offering extended services including obstetrical care through the third trimester, palliative care and procedures such as skin biopsies and IUD insertions. The ideal candidate for our team will be a self motivated, team player who is passionate about primary care and interested in practicing to the top of their skill level in nursing. We view our office nurses as an integral part of our team, often being the first point of clinical evaluation for our patients.

We are hiring for 9 months of coverage while one of our office nurses takes parental leave; please note this is not a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Primary phone triage for patients calling with new medical concerns
- Rooming patients for office visits including vital signs, obtaining brief histories and/or performing brief clinical assessments




- Performing independent nursing care such as wart treatments, wound care, vaccines, pap smears, review of preventative care, palliative care intakes & symptom assessments
- Our office nurses run a nurse visit schedule of their own for visits such as UTI, cryotherapy, vaccines etc. in addition to supporting the doctors in the office with their patient visits
- Patient call backs to answer clinical questions and/or review results as directed by physicians
- Manage ordering of clinical supplies for the office (ie. vaccine ordering and pick-up from public health, ordering equipment such as syringes, speculums to keep nursing room & patient exam rooms stocked).
- Ensure organization of patient exam rooms and nursing areas

Qualifications:

- RN or RPN degree & current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario are mandatory
- Computer and electronic medical record literacy (Accuro used in office)
- Recent criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening
- Valid CPR and First aid certificate
- Previous experience in nursing is preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced environment
- A positive, professional attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with patients and team members
