Overview

We are seeking an organized and inspiring Choir Director to lead choir rehearsals and musical performances at Our Lady of Grace Parish Center. The director will help prepare singers for church services, special liturgical celebrations, and parish community events while encouraging musical growth and active participation. The ideal candidate will foster a welcoming, respectful, and collaborative workplace that reflects the parish’s community-oriented mission.

Responsibilities

- Plan and lead engaging, productive choir rehearsals in preparation for church services and parish events.
- Select appropriate sacred music, hymns, and other repertoire suited to the choir’s abilities and liturgical occasions.
- Teach vocal technique, musicianship, harmony, rhythm, and musical interpretation.
- Prepare choir members for regular worship services, seasonal celebrations, special ceremonies, and community gatherings.
- Develop rehearsal plans, performance schedules, and music-learning materials.
- Monitor the choir’s progress and provide constructive, encouraging feedback.
- Coordinate with accompanists, parish staff, clergy, and other relevant participants to support musical activities.




- Foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere that encourages teamwork, respect, and participation.
- Communicate rehearsal schedules, performance expectations, and service-related musical arrangements to choir members.
- Maintain organized sheet music, attendance records, and choir program documentation.

Skills and Qualifications

- Strong musical knowledge and experience in directing or leading a vocal ensemble.
- Familiarity with sacred music, hymns, and music performed during church services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident leadership and public speaking abilities.
- Effective teaching skills and the ability to work with singers of varying experience levels.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
- Patience, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to working with parish staff and choir members.
- Ability to create a welcoming musical environment that supports worship, fellowship, and community participation.

Pay: $175,046.78-$178,843.48 per year
