We are currently seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable One-to-One Inclusion Aide to provide individualized support for a child with complex needs within our childcare program. This position is funded through an FSCD (Family Support for Children with Disabilities) contract and is intended to support the child's successful participation in daily programming.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the child, family, educators, and external professionals to help the child safely engage in routines, play experiences, learning opportunities, and social interactions throughout the day. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children of all abilities and fostering inclusive environments.

This position is a split shift position. The hours are Mon - Thurs 7am - 8:30am and 2:30pm - 5:30pm and Fridays 7am - 8:30am and 12:30-5:30. The position is for our Airdrie location.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Provide direct one-to-one support and supervision for a child with complex needs.
- Implement individualized strategies and supports as directed by the family and professional team.
- Assist the child in participating safely and successfully in daily routines, transitions, activities, and community experiences.
- Support the development of social skills, communication, emotional regulation, and peer interactions.




- Monitor the child's well-being and respond appropriately to behavioral, emotional, sensory, and safety needs.
- Maintain open, respectful, and professional communication with families, educators, supervisors, and external professionals.
- Document observations and progress as required.
- Work collaboratively with the classroom team to promote a positive and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

In order for the employee to be successful in this position, they must possess the following qualifications:

- Experience working with children with diverse developmental, behavioral, medical, or complex needs is preferred.
- Child Development Assistant (Level 1), Child Development Worker (Level 2), or Child Development Supervisor (Level 3) certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of inclusive practices, behavior support strategies, and child development.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
