Job Overview

Cartwright Lighting & Furniture has been part of Calgary's design community for nearly 30 years, helping homeowners and builders find lighting, furniture, and decor that fits their space. Now, we're looking for our next Packaging Associate to join the team.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you'll be responsible for carefully packaging light fixtures and furniture for customer orders and returns, including cleaning and wrapping delicate crystal. You'll work closely with the Warehouse and Shipping teams to ensure orders are complete, properly packaged, and ready for delivery. Previous packaging experience is preferred but not required. The Packaging Associate must be reliable, detail-oriented, and take pride in handling products with care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Orders & Returns

- Box and package light fixtures and furniture for customer orders.
- Package product returns carefully and accurately.
- Check each order before packing to confirm the right items, the right quantity, and no damage.
- Choose the right packing materials and protection for each item.
- Keep packed orders organized and ready to go out.

Crystal Care

- Clean crystal and other delicate pieces.
- Wrap crystal by hand so each piece is fully protected.

Safety & Work Area

- Follow protected handling and packaging practices.
- Keep the packing area clean, stocked, and organized.
- Keep pace during busy periods without sacrificing accuracy.

Decision-Making & Autonomy





- Manage the daily packing workload independently once familiar with the work, prioritizing as directed.
- Use judgment on packing materials and methods for each item.
- Set aside and report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to the Warehouse Manager before packing.

Key Outcomes & Success Measures

- Orders leave securely packed, with no damage caused in packing.
- Orders are complete and accurate.
- Crystal is cleaned and wrapped to standard.
- Product returns are packaged properly and on time.
- Busy periods are handled without a drop in quality.

Qualifications & Skills

Required Qualifications

- Strong attention to detail.
- Care and patience handling fragile, high-value items.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately during busy periods.
- Reliable and on time for every shift.
- Comfortable being on your feet and handling items of different sizes and weights.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Availability for full-time hours.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in packing, shipping, or warehouse work.
- Experience handling and packaging fragile items, such as glassware, furniture, or other delicate products

Schedule: 8 hour shift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
