About the Opportunity
inlingua is expanding its French-language programs in British Columbia and is seeking an experienced French as a Foreign/Second Language (FLE/FSL) instructor to help us develop our French programs.
We are an established language college and official IELTS and CELPIP testing organization with operations in British Columbia.
We have previously offered French instruction and are now making a significant commitment to developing French-language programming, including general French, French for Canadian immigration, and TEF/TCF preparation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced French instructor who would like to combine teaching with professional language assessment and potentially become an important part of a growing French program.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate may:
- Teach French to adult learners at a variety of levels
- Deliver TEF Canada and TCF Canada preparation courses
- Help develop engaging French-language courses and curriculum
- Assess students' French proficiency and recommend appropriate learning pathways
- Prepare learners for speaking, listening, reading and writing components of TEF/TCF
- Conduct official French oral examinations once appropriately approved and trained
- Participate in required TEF and/or TCF examiner training and standardization
- Assist our academic and testing teams in developing our French-language programs
- Potentially provide private, small-group and corporate French instruction

- Knowledge of the CEFR/CECRL
- Experience preparing candidates for TEF Canada and/or TCF Canada

- Previous experience conducting official French-language examinations

Schedule
Initially part-time and flexible, with daytime, evening and/or weekend opportunities depending on teaching and testing schedules.
The position has the potential to grow as we expand both our French-language programs and official French testing operations.
Why Join Us?
This is more than a traditional French teaching position.
We are building a larger French-language division that combines French instruction, immigration-focused exam preparation and professional language testing.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become involved at an early stage and help us develop the program as it grows.
Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your French teaching experience, FLE/FSL qualifications and any TEF, TCF, DELF or DALF experience.
