Job Summary

The Barber’s Philosophy is looking for a talented, professional barber to join our team in Kingston, Ontario. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their craft, values continued growth, and wants to be part of a supportive, established barbershop where quality and client experience come first.

This is a full-time opportunity for a barber who is confident behind the chair, enjoys building lasting relationships with clients, and wants to continue developing their skills in a professional team environment.

Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality haircuts, fades, beard services, and traditional barbering services.
- Deliver a consistently exceptional client experience.
- Consult with clients to understand their preferences and desired look.
- Maintain proper sanititation and disinfection of tools, equipment, and the workstation in accordance with applicable health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workstation,
- Assist with front desk duties as needed, including welcoming clients, managing appointments, and helping maintain an organized and welcoming shop.
- Assist with general cleaning and daily shop upkeep as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, punctuality, and customer service.
- Work collaboratively with the barbering team and contribute to a positive shop environment.
- Continue developing technical skills and staying current with barbering techniques and trends.
- Maintain a professional, polished appearance and adhere to The Barber's Philosophy dress code, including the required Barber Smock provided by the shop.

- Represent The Barber’s Philosophy professionally and contribute to the overall standards of the shop.

Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of professional barbering experience; references required.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members.
- Strong technical barbering skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable performing a variety of cuts, fades, beard services, and styles.
- Professional, reliable, and punctual.
- Maintains high standards of personal hygiene and professional presentation.
- Friendly and personable with strong communication skills.
- Comfortable working with a diverse clientele.
- Takes pride in their work and client experience.
- Team-oriented and willing to support fellow barbers.
- Motivated to continue learning and improving their craft.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.

Pay: $18.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
