We are excited to be adding to our talented team in the Calgary area! We are currently seeking a Lead Building Maintenance Technician - General Contractor for our commercial site services division. Are you ready for the challenge?

The Position

You'll run small commercial renovation and repair projects at gas stations and retail stores for national brands. That means quoting the work, leading the crew and doing the work yourself.

If you're a multi-trade generalist who likes running your own jobs but doesn't want to leave the tools, this is that job.

What you'll be doing

- Leading small commercial renovation, retrofit and repair projects from site visit to closeout
- Hands-on work across trades: drywall, framing, painting, tiling, plumbing repairs and basic electrical, flashing and building repairs
- Estimating: walking sites, building scopes, and pricing labour and materials
- Directing a crew of [1–3] technicians and sometimes coordinating subcontractors
- Keeping jobs on schedule and on budget, with clear updates to project managers and customers
- Completing hazard assessments and site safety paperwork, and setting the standard for your crew




- Travelling to sites across Alberta / Western Canada periodically. Travel, accommodation and meals are covered.

What you need

- 5+ years in commercial maintenance, renovation or general contracting
- Working skill in plumbing, painting, tiling, drywall and basic electrical
- Experience running small commercial renovations in gas stations, convenience or small retail stores
- Experience estimating jobs and leading others on site
- Comfortable following safety procedures and wearing PPE at all times
- Willing to travel, including overnight
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and a clean driver's abstract

Considered an asset

- A trade ticket (carpentry, plumbing or electrical)
- Petroleum site experience or orientation
- Safety tickets: First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift. We'll provide what you're missing.
