About the role
We’re hiring a Test Engineer for a leading naval defence technology company in Dartmouth. Their sonar and maritime systems are used by allied navies around the world. You’ll design, build and maintain the automated test equipment behind the production of complex defence systems. That covers the hardware and the software, plus the test plans that prove it all works.

What you’ll do

- Design, develop and maintain automated test equipment (ATE)
- Build and maintain test software in National Instruments LabVIEW
- Create electronic drawings and schematics in OrCAD
- Write test plans, procedures and methodologies to verify product specs
- Review test specifications for completeness and accuracy
- Troubleshoot test equipment, software and methods
- Analyze test data and production yields to find failure trends and root causes
- Improve test stations and processes for better accuracy and throughput
- Work with design, development and manufacturing teams on Design for Test and Design for Manufacturing
- Make sure work meets military specs, industry standards and QA procedures

What you bring

- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering,



or a related field
- Hands-on experience building test automation in LabVIEW
- Comfort reading technical drawings, schematics and system specs
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Clear communication, and you enjoy working across engineering disciplines

Nice to have

- Python for test development and automation
- Experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies and DAQ systems
- Test engineering experience in defence or aerospace
- A high-volume production environment background
- Statistical analysis or data visualization tools
- Lean Six Sigma certification

New grads with strong LabVIEW experience are welcome to apply. Aerospace backgrounds are a great fit.

Security requirements
You must be eligible to obtain Government of Canada Reliability Status and to work under the Controlled Goods Program. NATO clearance is started after you join.
