Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Garage Door Technician to install, inspect, maintain, and repair residential and commercial garage doors and operating systems. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, comfortable working with tools and mechanical components, and able to provide professional service at customer locations. Relevant construction experience is welcome; training may be provided for role-specific procedures.

Duties

- Install, adjust, inspect, and repair garage doors, tracks, springs, openers, and related hardware.
- Diagnose mechanical or operational issues and explain recommended work clearly to customers.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely; follow manufacturer instructions and applicable safety practices.
- Measure openings, review plans or schematics, and confirm materials and components are suitable for each job.
- Maintain an orderly work area, protect surrounding property, and document completed work.
- Coordinate with customers and team members to complete service calls and installations efficiently.
- Apply general construction skills when needed, including carpentry, blueprint reading, drywall repair, caulking, construction painting, and restoration work.
- Related experience with plumbing, welding, flooring installation, or tile laying is helpful but not required.

Experience

- Practical experience using hand tools is required; garage door, mechanical, or construction experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with carpentry, blueprint reading, or schematics is an asset.
- Experience in drywall, caulking, restoration,



construction painting, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, or tile laying is a plus.
- Ability to work safely with heavy or awkward components, follow instructions, and communicate professionally.
- A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record may be required for travel to job sites.
- Must be willing to learn, take direction, and deliver careful, customer-focused work.

Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
