Job Overview
At Pro Paint, we specialize in high-quality sandblasting and industrial coating services. Our team takes pride in delivering superior workmanship and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. We’re currently looking for a General Labour/Prepper to join our growing team and play an important role in preparing materials and equipment for painting and coating applications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare surfaces and industrial equipment for primer and paint application.
- Assist with the preparation of structural steel, piping, tanks, heavy equipment, and fabricated components.
- Perform touch-ups and rework as required to meet quality standards.
- Work alongside sandblasters and industrial painters to ensure surfaces are properly prepared for coating.
- Apply industrial primers using spray equipment, rollers, or brushes as required.
- Mix and prepare primers according to manufacturer specifications and established procedures, including required ratios and pot life.
- Ensure appropriate surface conditions are met prior to primer application.
- Apply primers evenly and consistently to achieve specified coverage and dry film thickness.
- Monitor coating application for runs, sags, missed areas, and other defects.
- Maintain spray guns, hoses, pumps, and other application equipment in proper working condition.
- Perform sanding, grinding, scraping, cleaning, and other surface preparation activities.
- Mask and protect areas that are not to be primed or painted.




- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Perform other general labour or shop duties as required.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in an industrial paint shop, fabrication facility, or similar industrial environment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of surface preparation techniques.
- Experience using grinders, sanders, and other hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn industrial coating processes and application techniques.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
