Yard Dawgs Lawn Care is hiring a Lead AI & Full-Stack Software Engineer for our Calgary HQ (100% In-Office at Yard Dawgs HQ, 330 40 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2M7). Full time, permanent, Monday to Friday, in person at the office. $120,000 to $150,000 CAD per year, plus a major launch completion bonus (February 1st target) and extended health and dental benefits. Reports to the Vice President.

1. ROLE (The Core Purpose)

You are the #1 AI-native technical builder and go-to technology owner for Yard Dawgs Lawn Care, a rapidly scaling $1.5M/month multi-branch operation across Canada and the US. We do not build software the slow, traditional way. We are an AI-first company, and you will use AI coding tools, LLM APIs, and autonomous agents every single day to operate with the output of an entire engineering department.

Your core purpose is twofold:

- AI-Accelerated Platform Engineering (~75%): architect, build, test, and deploy our proprietary internal software platform (CRM, geospatial routing and dispatch, automated billing, and mobile field operations) plus our fleet of internal AI agents into live production, with a major completion bonus for having the platform fully live and battle-tested by February 1st.
- Internal IT & Systems Lead (~25%): serve as our main technical owner for all cloud infrastructure, websites, e-commerce booking flows, phone and email systems, security, and day-to-day IT operations so our office and field teams run with zero friction.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES (What You Own Every Day)

- AI-Native Proprietary Software Development: use AI coding environments (Cursor, Claude Code, multi-agent workflows) all day, every day to architect, code, test, and deploy our custom full-stack web, desktop, and mobile applications at 5 to 10x traditional speed.
- Build and maintain real-time two-way API syncs, webhooks, and data pipelines between our proprietary platform and existing business systems during rollout.
- Design and ship production database schemas, interactive mapping and routing interfaces, multi-currency payment and billing workflows, and live executive dashboards.
- AI Agents, LLM Workflows & Business Automation: build, orchestrate, and maintain internal AI agents and automated workflows across customer service, sales QA,



accounts receivable, dispatch, and executive reporting.
- Continuously identify operational bottlenecks and replace manual processes with clean software and AI automation.
- Internal IT, Web & Infrastructure Ownership: manage and secure our cloud hosting (AWS), domains and DNS, corporate websites, online checkout and booking engines, Google Workspace administration, and VoIP phone systems.
- Own staff access provisioning, 2FA and security policies, HQ network and hardware readiness, and fast technical troubleshooting whenever the team needs support.

3. RESULTS (How Success Is Measured: Your Scorecard KPIs)

- February 1st Production Cutover (Major Completion Bonus): deliver the proprietary software platform 100% live, battle-tested, and production-ready by February 1st, unlocking a major launch completion bonus.
- Production Uptime & Reliability: maintain 99.9%+ uptime across the proprietary platform, booking engine, and core integrations supporting $1.5M/month volume.
- Data & Billing Accuracy: achieve 100% data sync and ledger accuracy across customer records, pricing tiers, tax calculations (CAD and USD), and automated card payments with zero lost transactions.
- AI Automation Velocity: measurably eliminate manual staff hours every week by shipping reliable AI agents and workflow automations across every department.
- IT Resolution Speed: resolve critical internal IT or system blockers (phones, checkout, access, network) in under 1 hour and routine internal tech requests within 24 hours.

4. REQUIREMENTS (Skills, Tools & Character Traits)

- Deeply AI-Native (Non-Negotiable): you live inside modern AI coding and agent tools every single day (Cursor, Claude Code, OpenAI and Anthropic APIs, MCP integrations, prompt and context engineering, and autonomous agent frameworks).
- You do not just autocomplete lines of code.



You know how to direct AI to architect complex systems, run automated test suites, debug live APIs, and ship clean, secure production code at extreme speed.
- Full-Stack Production Engineering: 4+ years of hands-on full-stack experience building and deploying live, production web and mobile software from scratch (TypeScript, React / Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, REST APIs, webhooks).
- Proven experience integrating payment processors (Stripe), mapping and geospatial APIs, and CRM or accounting APIs for a live, high-transaction business.
- Strong practical IT and DevOps fluency across cloud infrastructure, DNS, Google Workspace, VoIP systems, CMS websites, and security/2FA administration.
- Accountability: you take full ownership of your code, systems, and deadlines. You do not wait for a 20-page spec or a 6-week sprint cycle; you take a business problem, pair up with AI, build the solution, test it, and deploy it live.
- Customer Obsessed: you build with our customers, field technicians, and office team in mind, ensuring every booking flow, route sheet, and internal tool is fast, intuitive, and reliable.
- Excellence: you understand that in a $1.5M/month company, broken software costs real money. You verify your data, write automated tests, and hold every system to the highest standard, while staying a no-ego team player who is happy to jump on any IT issue.

Pay: $120,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
