Hart Pump Service (1983

Greater Toronto Area

Hart Pump Service has been fixing pumps in the GTA since 1983. Our techs keep water moving in commercial buildings, condos, plants and municipal sites across the region: booster systems, fire pumps, sump and sewage, HVAC circulators and the motors and controls that run them. We're a 20-person company and growing, and we're adding trucks.

What you'll do

- Run service calls on your own truck across the GTA. Troubleshoot, repair and replace pumps, motors, seals, bearings, VFDs and controls
- Pull and reinstall pumps on site. Align, pipe, wire and commission
- Start up recent booster and fire pump systems and walk the customer through them
- Write clear service reports from your tablet before you leave the site
- Spot the next failure before it happens and tell the customer what they should budget for

What you need

- 3 or more years fixing pumps, HVAC equipment, industrial machinery or plumbing systems in the field
- Comfortable with 3-phase motors, basic electrical troubleshooting and reading a wiring diagram
- Able to work alone, keep a customer calm and leave a mechanical room cleaner than you found it

- Valid G licence with a clean abstract
- 433A, 306A or 313A ticket is a plus, not a must. Pump-specific experience is a plus, not a must. We'll train the right person

What you get

- $32 to $42 per hour
- Time and a half after 44 hours. Standby pay when you carry the phone
- Company service van, fuel and tablet.
- Paid manufacturer training (Armstrong, Grundfos, Xylem and others)

Pay: $32.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Benefits:

- Casual dress
- Dental care
- Extended health care
- On-site parking
- Vision care

Application question(s):

- How many years have you run service calls on your own, and what equipment did you work on most?
- Describe a pump or motor failure you diagnosed where the obvious answer turned out to be wrong.
- Do you hold a trade ticket (433A, 306A, 313A or other)? If not, are you working toward one?
- Do you have a valid G licence and a clean driving abstract?

Work Location: In person
