We’re looking for patient, enthusiastic STEM tutors to help students build understanding and confidence in math and science (from Grade 1 to Grade 12). You’ll give clear explanations, adapt to each learner’s needs, and encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and steady progress.
- Tutor students in your area(s) of strength within the subjects above
- Plan and adapt lessons to each student’s goals, progress, and needs
- Use computers and digital learning tools to teach and to track student progress
- Apply inclusive teaching strategies, including special education approaches, so every student can take part and learn
- Give regular feedback on progress to students (and parents or guardians where relevant) and the Academy
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of at least one of the subjects listed
- Practical tutoring or teaching experience
- Good computer skills and comfort with online learning tools
- Transparent communication and a patient, supportive approach
- Flexibility in adapting lessons to different learning styles
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach multiple subjects (e.g. Math plus a science, or all of the sciences is an added advantage)
- Experience working with children
- Classroom experience
- Familiarity with special education needs
- Background in computer science
Pay: $20.00 per hour
