With over 650 employees at both the Windsor, NS and Charlottetown, PEI sites, BIOVECTRA supports over 100 clients, including over 20 top pharma and biotech companies. has an opening for a Quality Control Chemist.This is a full-time permanent position located in Windsor, Nova Scotia. This position works 12-hour shifts (long week/short week) rotating between days and nights. The candidate will be responsible for:
* Performing analyses using instrumental techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, PCR, Electrophoretic assays, ELISA (Plate assays).
* Maintaining accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.
* Performing required calculations, by hand or with use of spreadsheets or validated computer systems.
* Performing routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instruments and documenting these activities.
* Completing paperwork/data entry for the release of materials, including status labels and certificates of analysis.




* Identifying test results which are out of specification and alerting a manager or supervisor when this occurs.
* Technical writing of SOPs including testing procedures and sampling handling instructions.
* Qualifications**The successful candidate for this position should have:
* Diploma from a recognized Chemical Technology program.
* Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline preferred.
* Technical proficiency with laboratory instrumentation such as GC, HPLC, UV-VIS, PCR, Plate reader preferred.
* Knowledge of cGMP guidelines an asset.Additional DetailsThis job has a full time weekly schedule. The full time equivalent pay range for this position is $49,848.00
- $77,888.00/yr CAD plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
