Matrix HR is recruiting a Fireplace Installer Assistant / Carpenter / Gas Fitter Apprentice for a Calgary-based Client. This is an immediate, long-term opportunity for a residential carpenter, renovation worker, installer helper, or eligible apprentice who wants to build a specialized career in fireplace installation. You will support experienced installation crews in customer homes and work under approved training, supervision, and trade-authorization pathways.

Schedule: Peak-season days may run approximately 10–12 hours (overtime TBD )

Service Area: Calgary and Canmore

Key Responsibilities

- Support experienced installers with the safe installation of gas and wood-burning fireplaces, inserts, and related components.
- Review digital work orders, load company vehicles, and prepare materials and work areas.
- Assist with measurements, site preparation, framing, venting support, finishing coordination, and clean-up.
- Safely move fireplace units using dollies, straps, lifting equipment, and a helper.




- Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in clean, secure working condition.
- Follow job-site safety requirements and maintain professional communication in occupied customer homes.

Experience

- Experience in residential carpentry, renovations, framing, finishing, cabinetry, HVAC helper work, or related construction trades.
- Physical ability to complete installation-support work and handle heavy equipment with assistance.
- Own general hand tools (specialized tools provided).
- Basic English communication skills, strong safety awareness, and customer-service mindset.
- Valid driver’s licence and acceptable driver's abstract (Company vehicle provided) .
- Current gasfitter or carpentry apprenticeship registration, or safety certifications (WHMIS, CSTS, Fall Protection).

Pay: Up to $35.00 per hour
