Overview

The Certified Health Care Aide provides respectful, person-centred support to individuals in care settings and at home. The role helps people maintain comfort, dignity, and daily routines while supporting families and care teams.

Responsibilities

- Assist with patient care, personal routines, mobility, and senior care, adapting support for individuals with disabilities and people living with dementia.
- Support medication administration according to established care plans and procedures, and promptly share relevant observations with the care team.
- Prepare meals, complete light cleaning, and provide caregiving support, including protected assistance with heavy lifting when needed.

Requirements

Required: Practical patient-care, caregiving, communication, and observation skills to support daily routines, follow care plans, and work safely with individuals. Preferred: Experience in senior care, dementia care, hospice care, home care, assisted living, nursing homes, or supporting individuals with disabilities; familiarity with nursing, medication administration, meal preparation, cleaning, and heavy lifting is an asset.

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
