Expand Staffing Solutions Ltd. is urgently seeking Mechanical Installation Technicians for industrial installation projects in Surrey and Pitt Meadows, BC.

This is a great opportunity for candidates with hands-on mechanical skills, including newcomers to Canada, students pursuing millwright, industrial maintenance, or mechanical technician programs, and individuals with relevant experience gained outside Canada.

The client is open to candidates with limited Canadian experience, including those with less than six months of experience, provided they have the practical skills, tool knowledge, and ability to perform the required work safely. Students interested in gaining hands-on industrial experience as part of their career development or apprenticeship journey are encouraged to apply.

Position Details

- Locations: Surrey and Pitt Meadows, BC
- Schedule: Monday to Saturday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Job Type: Contract / Project-Based
- Duration: A few months initially, with potential for permanent employment for suitable candidates, subject to the client's decision.
- Pay Rate: $19–$22 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Install platforms, mezzanines, conveyor systems, and related mechanical components.
- Assist with conveyor installation, tie-ins, and mechanical assembly.
- Perform minor field modifications and mechanical adjustments.
- Assist with conveyor belt tracking and stitching.
- Install side guides and safety netting after conveyor tracking is complete.
- Read and follow installation drawings, technical instructions, and equipment layouts.
- Safely operate impact drills and hand tools to complete installations.




- Follow site safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Work with the installation team to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Mandatory Requirements

- Valid forklift certification.
- Valid WHMIS certification.




- Successful completion of the required background check.
- Ability to provide the information and documentation needed for the background check.
- Ability to work at heights and comply with site safety requirements.
- Own required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Certifications

- Working at Heights (WAH) / Fall Arrest
- Aerial Work Platform (AWP)
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

Mandatory PPE and Tools

Candidates must supply their own:

- High-visibility safety vest
- Cut-resistant gloves
- CSA-approved steel-toe safety boots
- Impact drill
- Basic mechanical installer hand tools

Additional Requirements

- Comfortable working 10-hour shifts, six days per week.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to workplace safety.
- Able to work collaboratively and follow technical instructions.
- Willing to learn, take direction, and contribute to project deadlines.
