Regenerative Landscape Field Specialist — Guelph

Pay: CA$25 per hour, plus CA$100 commission for each paid garden-design sale you help bring in.

Enjoy helping people see what’s possible in their gardens?

Cloverstone is looking for a locally based person with practical knowledge of gardening, horticulture or permaculture to help launch a small residential garden-design pilot in Guelph.

We help homeowners create beautiful, practical gardens that support food growing, pollinators, healthy soil and outdoor living. You’ll bring the local knowledge, meet homeowners and document their gardens, while our remote design team develops plans suited to each property.

What you’ll do

- Help identify suitable neighbourhoods and introduce homeowners to Cloverstone.
- Arrange and carry out friendly garden walk-throughs.
- Listen to homeowners’ ideas and understand what they want from their space.
- Gather clear photos, short video walkthroughs and measurements of the garden layout and existing features.
- Work with the designer to communicate the site layout and develop an accurate garden basemap.
- Record observations about existing plants, sunlight, soil and drainage, and share organized notes with our design team.
- Help with homeowner questions and follow-up.

What you’ll bring

- Practical knowledge of gardening, plants or permaculture,

gained through work, study or hands-on gardening.
- An understanding of Southern Ontario plants and growing conditions.
- Familiarity with Guelph and its residential neighbourhoods.
- Reliable transportation for local visits.
- A friendly manner and confidence speaking with homeowners.
- Confidence using a smartphone to capture photos, videos and site notes.
- Reliability, good communication and organization skills.

You don’t need years of skilled experience. We’re looking for someone dependable, observant and interested in helping homeowners improve their gardens. We’ll provide guidance on recording site information and working with our designer.

A Permaculture Design Certificate or relevant horticulture studies would be welcome, but aren’t required.

This is flexible, paid project work organized around an initial pilot campaign, with scheduling agreed together. It could fit alongside studies, an existing gardening practice or other work.
