The successful candidate will operate various pieces of heavy equipment, primarily excavators and loaders, in a busy metal recycling yard. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial environment, a solid commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Safely operate various pieces of equipment, primarily excavators and loaders Handle, move, sort,



and process scrap metal and recyclable materials Conduct daily pre-operational inspections and report any equipment deficiencies to management Maintain awareness of pedestrians, mobile equipment, trucks, and other hazards within the yard Follow all company safety policies, procedures and site-specific requirements 2+ years experience with heavy equipment operation, preferably in a scrap-metal, recycling, construction, or industrial environment ~ Demonstrated ability to safely and effectively operate excavators and loaders ~ Heavy equipment operating training, certification, or a recognized heavy equipment operator ticket is an asset ~ Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and truck drivers ~ Physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including lifting, climbing, standing, walking, and other manual labor tasks as required ~ This position is based in a busy metal recycling yard and involves working around heavy machinery, moving vehicles, scrap metal, noise, dust, and changing weather conditions. Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM
- 5:00 PM and Saturdays as required from 7am
- 12pm This role is not accessible by public transportation and will require other means of reliable transportation to get to and from work
