We are currently hiring an experienced Controller for an established property management company in Edmonton, Alberta. Our client is engaged in premier asset property management, acquisition, leasing, and development. Our client is seeking a hands-on leader who builds the systems, controls and team behind our numbers. You will be responsible for overseeing the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening processes and controls, and providing financial information to support business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day to day accounting and financial operations
- Lead month end and year end close processes and ensure timely financial reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports
- Develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support business decisions
- Work closely with leadership and operational teams to monitor financial performance
Qualifications:
- CPA designation
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of GST, Canadian payroll and year-end
- Advanced Excel. Comfortable with automation and eager to use AI tools
- A track record of building processes and controls, not just following them
- Owner mentality: proactive, detail-oriented, and dependable on deadlines
- Valuable written and verbal English
- Legal to work in Canada
