The Counsellor, Developmental Services plans and facilitates the implementation of versatile and responsive supports to adults living with a developmental disability in accordance with their Quality-of-Life plan (QLP).



Working in collaboration with the person’s support team, the Counsellor, Developmental Services guides and coaches the supported person to build personal and community living skills based on their unique interests, plans, abilities, rights and goals. A post-secondary diploma or degree from a human services field and specialized education, training or certification in developmental disabilities, disability studies, behaviour management, social work, or psychology; (Continuing education in dual diagnosis, behaviour management or mental health an asset. Proof of completion of an approved Pharmacology course. Current First Aid and CPR. Experience working with adults with a dual diagnosis or complex needs in a community based, group living or independent living environment. Shifts are typically 12 hours long and include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
