Operate recreation facilities across Peterborough with ice resurfacing, pool chemistry, parks maintenance, and public service responsibilities. This temporary position supports indoor and outdoor locations.

The City of Peterborough seeks a Recreation Facility Operator for Community Services and the Ptbo Sport & Wellness Centre. Reporting to facility and parks supervisors, you will maintain facilities, parks, equipment, and related mechanical systems. You will also support rentals, seasonal staff, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate ice resurfacing and landscape equipment
- Record refrigeration and pool chemistry readings
- Maintain sports fields, splash pads, and playgrounds
- Perform repairs, cleaning, janitorial work,



and snow clearing
- Assist facility rentals and direct seasonal staff

Requirements:

- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- One year recreational facilities or parks maintenance experience
- Basic Arena Refrigeration and Certified Pool Operator courses
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS 2015
- Basic computer skills and ability to work independently
