Maintain heavy equipment in Thunder Bay through inspections and repairs. Apply hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills in an experienced full-time mechanic role.
Reporting to the Foreman, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic maintains, inspects, repairs, and adjusts heavy equipment components and systems. This full time position is based in Thunder Bay, Ontario, with a 14-14 work schedule. The work includes preventive maintenance, parts replacement, and troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, air conditioning, and greasing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and test heavy equipment on site
- Identify damaged or worn equipment parts
- Replace defective parts, components, and systems
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and air conditioning systems
Requirements:
- Vocational diploma or relevant field experience
- Experience as an experienced heavy equipment mechanic
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment repair tools
- Knowledge of equipment overhaul and maintenance requirements
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems
