Lead tunnel and sprayed concrete lining safety through practical assurance, risk control, and workforce engagement across complex construction activities. This experienced Health and Safety Manager supports safe tunnel and SEM delivery from a site-based position. You will advise project leadership, engineers, supervisors, delivery teams, contractors, and supply chain partners. The work covers underground construction, temporary works, high-risk activities, and proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

Lead health and safety arrangements for tunnel and SEM operations Advise teams on legislative, contractual, and industry requirements Develop risk assessments, method statements, and emergency plans Monitor excavation, ground support, ventilation, access, lifting,



and confined spaces Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions

Requirements:

Recognised qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Qualified IOSH accreditation or progress toward similar accreditation Substantial construction, civil engineering, or tunnelling experience Practical knowledge of SEM, underground, and temporary works Strong communication, influencing, judgement, and challenge skills Apply tunnel safety leadership, SEM knowledge, and practical risk management to maintain high construction health and safety standards.
