- CA$240,000 / year Fitch Ratings is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join its Toronto Innovation Tiger Team. This greenfield initiative will build AI-driven systems and platforms to transform financial analysis and analyst workflows. Design and build greenfield agentic systems and intelligent platforms using Java, Spring Boot, React and emerging AI technologies. Explore generative AI, LLMs, RAG architectures and intelligent automation; Define technical vision, architecture, standards and technology choices for AI-driven systems. Partner with product, senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions. Mentor engineers, promote experimentation and balance rapid delivery with engineering quality, including CI/CD practices. Help shape the team's culture,



operating practices and technical direction. 15+ years of hands-on experience building enterprise applications or AI/ML systems. ~ Experience designing scalable systems from scratch and making architectural decisions in ambiguous environments. ~ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience. ~ Experience driving technical decisions, mentoring engineers and leading initiatives. ~ Interest in AI and emerging technologies; hands-on AI/ML experience is an advantage.
