What You'll Do
Prioritize Make the calls on what the team works on and what gets dropped. Keep the backlog honest and the team focused on impact. Explain drawbacks of the team’s choices. Grow the Team Coach and develop your engineers individually, invest in their skills, and hire well when the team needs to grow. Remove Roadblocks Spot,



improve or remove technical, process, or organizational limitations before they slow the team down. Unblock the team by going deep or asking the right people for clarity. Plan the Roadmap Make sure the team has the capacity to deliver on its commitments, and keep stakeholders in every direction, up, down, and sideways, informed on progress and risks. Requirements
• 3+ years of experience managing a software engineering team.
• Prior hands-on experience as a software engineer. You stay close enough to the technical details to review a design or unblock a tricky decision.
• Track record of coaching engineers and helping them grow.
• Comfortable making prioritization calls and saying no.
• You can communicate and work effectively with engineers, product managers, and other non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience planning roadmaps and managing delivery against them.
• A bias toward shipping and a commitment to high-quality results. Nice to Have
• Experience in a startup, scaleup or fast-growing product environment.
• Familiarity with workforce management, SaaS, or B2B enterprise software.
• Experience hiring and building out a team from the ground up.
