ADDICTION RECOVERY SUPPORT WORKER

iRecover Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate and dependable Addiction Recovery Support Worker to support participants in our residential addiction treatment program.

This role plays an important part in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive recovery environment. Addiction Recovery Support Workers help participants develop e motional regulation, accountability, and adherence to program expectations while supporting their engagement in treatment and ensuring the facility operates safely and smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

- Support participants in maintaining program structure and adherence to facility rules
- Provide support with emotional regulation and de-escalation
- Encourage accountability and recovery-focused behaviours
- Assist participants with questions and direct them to appropriate supports
- Support participants in navigating and engaging with the iRecover Program
- Conduct hourly safety rounds throughout the facility
- Document incidents, observations, and important updates during your shift
- Report rule violations or concerns during shift handover
- Drive and accompany participants to off-site meetings or approved activities including AA/NA meetings, errands, and appointments
- Conduct bag checks following shopping trips
- Facilitate the How It Works online meeting (overnight shift)
- Provide supportive presence and encouragement to individuals in early recovery
- Complete shift documentation and reports
- Assist with light administrative duties when required
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Education & Experience

Preferred qualifications include:

- Diploma or degree in Addictions Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field
- Experience working in addictions treatment, mental health, recovery support, residential care, or community support
- Experience supporting individuals with emotional regulation, crisis situations, or behavioural concerns
- Peer support training or lived recovery experience is considered an asset

Requirements :

- Valid Driver’s License
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- ASIST training considered an asset

Must be trained or willing to be trained in:

- Mental Health Services Protection Act
- Mental Health Services Protection Regulation
- Residential Addiction Treatment Service Standards
- Critical Incident Response and Reporting procedures
- Trauma-Informed Care practices
- Crisis De-escalation / Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
- Naloxone administration and overdose response=

Schedule

- 4 days on / 4 days off rotation
- Weekday shifts: 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM
- Weekend shifts: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
- Weekend shifts are worked when they fall within the employee’s scheduled rotation
