Seasonal Personal Tax Preparer (Part time)

Pay: $30 per hour

Contract Duration: February to May 2027

We are seeking two experienced Personal Tax Preparers to support a small accounting practice during the upcoming tax season. The ideal candidates will have hands-on experience preparing personal income tax returns involving various income sources including self-employment rental properties and investments.

This position offers flexible scheduling with increased workload during March and April.

Responsibilities

- Prepare personal income tax returns using tax preparation software.
- Prepare returns involving business and self-employment income including Uber earnings.
- Handle rental property income and expenses.
- Prepare returns involving investment income from stocks and mutual funds.
- Review tax documents for accuracy and completeness.




- Follow up on missing information and maintain organized client records.
- Assist with basic bookkeeping if experienced.

Requirements

- Practical experience preparing personal income tax returns.
- Experience with business rental and investment income.
- Familiarity with tax preparation software; Taxprep experience is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines during tax season.

No degree or CPA designation is required. Relevant hands-on tax preparation experience is the primary requirement.

Schedule

- Contract runs from mid-February to mid-May 2027.
- Flexible part-time hours with the busiest period expected in March and April.
- Exact hours and scheduling will be discussed based on availability and business needs.
