bmg. GLASS + ALUMINUM INC. is seeking an incumbent for a full-time position to support our growing business.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Project Management, the Logistics Coordinator supports the shipping and logistics team by coordinating receiving and shipping components.

Duties

- Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the bmg. Health and Safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, (safety shoes, ear plugs, and safety glasses).
- Coordinates shipping and receiving of materials for bmg. Glass + Aluminum, Big Glass Openings, and Canadian Aluminum and associated companies via third party suppliers to sites and head office, including negotiation of rates.
- Ensures adequate stocking of tools in the warehouse. Order all shop, vehicle, and installer tools, and / or coordinate tool repairs. Maintain inventory of tools assigned to vehicles and installers, and shop employees.
- Ensures that tools are signed out and returned.
- Ensures storage of equipment is properly maintained and adequately stocked in a safe and clean manner, sign in and out equipment, track through excel sheets.
- Co-ordinates bmg.



Glass + Aluminum and associated companies’ trucking fleet. Ensures maintenance and repairs, branding, CVOR’s, sticker renewal etc. are up to date and maintained on all company vehicles.
- Assists in the shop when required - Builds skids, carries materials helps with general labour if the shop is behind.
- Performs material receiving duties such as back orders, damage documentation, job material tag etc.
- Ensures shop cleaning is up to standard.
- Contributes to S.O.P development and upgrades as required.
- Sets up driver runs on a daily basis for bmg. Glass + Aluminum and associated companies with consideration of determining the most cost-effective routes.
- Orders and maintains smallware’s inventory, conduct semi annual inventory count, complete all inventory transfers from Project Manager’s, stage material for installers, enter all inventory transfers in QuickBooks.
- Ensures annual safety checks are performed for all large equipment (i.e. forklifts), arrange for equipment to get to sites via our truck or 3rd party, ensures all equipment are clean and in working order.




- Arranges building maintenance for 108 Victoria Street and ensures that annual inspections are done in timely manner (i.e.., sprinklers, fire extinguishers).
- Signing authority: job specific P.O.’s up to $1,000.00

Requirements :

- 3 to 5 years experience managing shipping receiving operations.
- Experience managing an inventory, lock up will be a significant asset.
- Fleet coordination experience will be an asset.
- Knowledge of the glass and aluminum industry will be a significant asset.
- Excellent customer service
- Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
