This Senior Underwriter position supports one of Canada’s largest insurers. You will evaluate applications, use underwriting guidelines, and apply professional judgment when making decisions. The work also involves communication, negotiation, documentation, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze medical, personal, and financial application information
- Assess and classify risks using underwriting guidelines
- Make decisions within authority and submit excess files




- Collaborate with reinsurers on complex or adverse decisions
- Communicate decisions clearly to advisors and physicians

Requirements:

- At least three years of individual life underwriting experience
- Existing signing authority for life and critical illness insurance
- Analytical, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of medicine and risk factors
- ALU certificate or commitment to obtain it
