Safeway seeks an All Purpose Grocery Clerk with customer service and point of sale skills. Full training is provided for this customer-facing position.
This grocery clerk position supports front-end service and well-stocked Grocery and Produce sections. You will greet shoppers, process payments, bag merchandise, maintain displays, and manage product flow. No previous experience is required, while quick learning, clear communication, and flexible availability are expected. Evening and weekend availability is strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers politely and provide Safeway customer service
- Process cash, cheque, credit, gift card, and debit payments
- Wrap merchandise and place items in bags or carts
- Stock Dairy, Frozen, Produce,
and non-perishable shelves
- Maintain check stands, displays, inventory, and product rotation
Requirements:
- No previous experience required
- Ability to learn quickly and communicate clearly
- Strong customer service qualities and team orientation
- Availability for flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds constantly
