Role Overview The

Technology Lead Analyst – Infrastructure Orchestration

is a senior-level position within Citi's Technology Infrastructure group, responsible for leading the design, architecture, and hands‑on development of an

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platform

— specifically the

Inventory Orchestration

system — used to provision, configure, and manage a broad range of

middleware and database components

across the enterprise. This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering and infrastructure automation, requiring a deep technical practitioner who can both architect scalable solutions and contribute high‑quality code. The successful candidate will be expected to embrace and champion

AI-augmented development practices , leveraging up-to-date developer productivity tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and drive innovation across the team. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and architecture

of the Inventory Orchestration IaC platform, encompassing middleware (e.g., messaging brokers, web servers, application runtimes) and database components (e.g., relational, NoSQL, in‑memory stores). Drive hands‑on development

of automation modules, playbooks, and platform tooling using

Python ,

Ansible ,

Rust , and related technologies. Architect scalable, maintainable IaC solutions

that integrate with cloud and container platforms including

OpenShift

and

AWS , ensuring alignment with enterprise standards. Champion AI‑assisted development practices

across the team — evaluate, onboard, and govern the use of tools such as

GitHub Copilot ,

Devin ,

Cursor , and other AI coding assistants to accelerate development velocity and improve code quality. Serve as a

technology subject matter expert (SME)

for internal and external stakeholders; provide technical direction across all firm‑mandated controls, compliance initiatives, and group‑wide projects. Define and maintain a

technology domain roadmap

for the Inventory Orchestration platform, ensuring alignment with business and architectural goals — including a forward‑looking strategy for

AI tooling adoption

within the engineering workflow. Ensure seamless integration

of platform functions with broader infrastructure and application ecosystems, verifying that all components meet business and performance objectives. Define necessary

system enhancements

to enable deployment of new products, process improvements, and evolving infrastructure patterns. Recommend and evaluate product customizations

for system integrations and third‑party tool adoption, including AI‑powered developer productivity platforms. Identify problem causality, business impact, and root causes

of infrastructure‑related incidents; drive resolution and preventative measures. Apply broad knowledge of the infrastructure engineering specialty and

translate business requirements

into technical solutions, with awareness of competing technologies and industry best practices. Mentor and advise junior and mid‑level engineers , including coaching on responsible and effective use of AI development tools. Influence engineering decisions

across the group through advice, technical counsel,

and facilitation of cross‑team services and standards. Champion compliance and risk management

— assess risk implications of engineering decisions, including those introduced by AI tooling (e.g., code provenance, IP considerations, security vulnerabilities in AI‑generated code); elevate and manage control issues with full transparency. Adhere to Citi’s policies and apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal conduct, business practices, and stakeholder engagement. Required Qualifications 6–10 years of relevant experience

in an Engineering or Platform Engineering role, with a strong focus on infrastructure automation and IaC. Hands‑on proficiency in Python

for automation scripting, tooling, and platform development. Extensive experience with Ansible

— writing roles, playbooks, and dynamic inventories for middleware and database provisioning at scale. Experience with Rust

for performance‑critical systems components or platform tooling. Working knowledge of container and cloud platforms , particularly

OpenShift (Kubernetes)

and

AWS

(e.g., EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, EKS). Demonstrated experience designing and implementing

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

solutions covering lifecycle management of middleware (e.g., Apache, Tomcat, IBM MQ, Kafka, Nginx) and database technologies (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL). Practical experience with AI‑powered developer tools , including one or more of the following:

GitHub Copilot

– AI pair programming, code completion, and inline documentation generation Devin

– Autonomous AI software engineering agent for end‑to‑end task execution Cursor

– AI‑native code editor with deep codebase context and intelligent refactoring ChatGPT / Claude for Development

– Leveraging LLMs for architecture design, code review, debugging, and documentation

Ability to

assess, govern, and apply AI coding tools responsibly , including awareness of security risks (prompt injection, insecure code suggestions), IP/licensing implications, and enterprise compliance requirements. Experience in

Financial Services

or a large‑scale, complex, and/or global enterprise environment. Proven

Project Management

experience — ability to lead workstreams, coordinate across teams, and manage delivery timelines. Strong

analytic and diagnostic skills

— ability to decompose complex technical problems, identify root causes, and devise actionable solutions. Ability to work effectively in a

matrix environment

and collaborate with geographically distributed, virtual teams. Ability to

work independently , multitask, and take full ownership of components within a project or initiative. Demonstrated ability to

perform under pressure , manage tight deadlines, and adapt to shifting requirements or priorities. Proven track record of driving

operational process change and improvement

through technology. Consistently demonstrates

clear and concise written and verbal communication

skills. Comprehensive knowledge of

design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities , and related reporting to identify and apply best practices. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications Experience with additional IaC or configuration management tools (e.g.,

Terraform , Ansible, Puppet, Salt). Familiarity with

CI/CD platforms

(e.g., Jenkins, GitHub CI, Harness, Tekton/Lightspeed). Understanding of

secrets management

tools (e.g., HashiCorp Vault). Exposure to

observability and monitoring

stacks (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, ELK). Experience contributing to or building

internal developer platforms (IDPs) . Hands‑on exposure to

agentic AI frameworks

(e.g., LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI) and their applicability to infrastructure automation workflows. Experience integrating

AI code review tools

(e.g., CodeRabbit, Sourcery, SonarQube AI) into CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with

LLM‑based documentation generation

tools (e.g., Mintlify, Swimm) for maintaining platform documentation at scale. Knowledge of

cybersecurity principles

as they apply to infrastructure automation, IaC pipelines, and AI‑generated code validation. Experience with

GitOps workflows

and version‑controlled infrastructure pipelines. Education Bachelor's degree

in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree

preferred. Job Family Group:
