About The OpportunityOur growing client in Ottawa East is looking for a Corporate Controller to join their rapid-paced, dynamic organization on a full-time, permanent basis.This opportunity joins a progressive organization that offers professional growth within a collaborative, positive, work culture, paired with a competitive total compensation package.Duties include but are not limited to:Oversee Accounting & Human Resources team to ensure accuracy and submissions in a timely manner, providing support as neededEvaluation of WIP, prepaids, accruals, asset management, holdbacks, and monitoring of aging; appropriate follow-up when necessaryOversee compliance of contract terms and ensure proper set up for projects including billing, costing, tax compliance, and labour requirementsOversee job costing, review of costing reports, and cost allocation, as well as providing insight to costing fluctuations and adjustments as neededCoordination and preparation of budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain planning and control procedures and analyze report variancesRisk Analysis and ad hoc analysis as neededPreparing Month and Year End closing, ensure transactions are complete, accurate, and properly documentedLiaising with auditors, take an active role in internal and external Audit, providing required reportingEvaluation of processes, development and integration of efficiencies,



policies & procedures as neededEnsuring compliance as well as implementation of policies and procedures, monitoring for accurate and successful executionProvide mentorship and development for Accounting team through thoughtful evaluationWorking closely with internal and external stakeholders and presenting financial reportsProvide contributions and recommendations regarding financial aspects of the business, communicating with Senior Management on financial variances and strategies, including developing long-term growth modelsParticipate in other active projects and ad hoc reporting as neededAbout YouThe successful candidate will have the following:CPA Designation, or in pursuit of CPAMust have experience in the Construction industry (project-focused experience, ideally on the commercial side)7+ years of experience in Accounting & Finance within a similar role for a medium-to-large organization, including 2+ years of leadership of an accounting teamStrong oral, written, and communication skills in EnglishStrong problem-solving skillsHighly organized, strong attention to detailExcellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, collaborativeAbout the JobThe salary band for this role is $130,000 to $165,000, dependent on relevant previous experience.Please note that all candidates must be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.#J-18808-Ljbffr
