Our client is seeking a Project Accountant to join their Calgary team on a long-term contract basis.

This role will support project-based construction work and operational accounting, with a focus on full-cycle accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities: Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned projects and operational contracts, maintaining accurate financial records.

Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, general ledger reviews, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

Monitor project costs, track performance against budgets, and assist with forecasting.

Review invoices, billings, and account coding in collaboration with AP, AR, and procurement teams.

Partner with operational leaders and contract stakeholders to ensure accurate recording of expenses, revenue, and commitments.

Prepare financial information for audits, management reporting, and internal presentations.

Support project close-outs and accounting activities for existing and recent construction initiatives.

Use Oracle project accounting tools to record transactions, analyze project results, and monitor contract performance.
