Provide patient-centred acute medicine care as a part-time Registered Practical Nurse at Southlake Health in Newmarket, Ontario.
This permanent RPN position supports Medicine 6 within a collaborative healthcare team. You will apply nursing standards, communicate with patients and families, and contribute to care planning. The role includes working with Registered Nurses and interprofessional colleagues while supporting patients with complex and geriatric medical populations.
Key Responsibilities: Provide patient and family-focused care within RPN scope
Assess and document patient health status continuously
Assist with care plans and evaluate effectiveness
Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Support orientation and preceptorship for staff and students
Requirements: Recognized RPN diploma and Ontario registration in good standing
Current Basic Life Support certification
Knowledge of complex and geriatric medical populations
Demonstrated skin assessment and wound care knowledge
Commitment to learning, teamwork, and patient-centred care
Use clinical communication, assessment, and cooperative nursing skills to support safe patient care at Southlake Health.
