Lead underground geomechanics for WSP on deep, high-stress and mass-mining projects, using numerical modelling and rock mass characterization expertise. International travel may be required. As a Principal Rock Mechanics Engineer, you will provide senior technical leadership across studies, design and operating-mine support. Your work will address ground support, mining-induced seismicity and complex underground conditions. You will integrate geotechnical recommendations with mine layouts, infrastructure, sequencing and operational decisions. You will also mentor engineers and geoscientists while strengthening technical practices.Key Responsibilities: Lead underground rock mechanics and geotechnical studiesDevelop criteria for excavations, infrastructure and production areasDirect numerical modelling of stability,
stresses and ground responseAssess rockbursts, seismicity, spalling and squeezing conditionsGuide support systems, monitoring and ground control plansRequirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related disciplineSignificant underground mining rock mechanics experienceExpertise in deep, high-stress environments and ground supportAdvanced FLAC3 D or equivalent modelling capabilityAbility to lead assignments and communicate geotechnical riskBring technical leadership, practical judgment and numerical modelling expertise to WSP's complex underground mining projects worldwide.#J-18808-Ljbffr
